Monday, July 31st, 2006As you might know, I am currently looking for a job (if you’re reading this, and you’re hiring, let me know. Hell, even if you’re not reading this and you’re hiring, let me know!) And in the process of looking for jobs, one occasionally gets called in for an interview. I had one such experience as of late. I responded to a posting on monster.com for a “program assistant” position. I read the description and wondered why they didn’t just call it an administrative assistant position, because that’s what it is.So I did the online application thing and lo and behold a few days later, I got a call. I spoke to Patricia, who was very nice; as all recruiters are (it is their job, after all). We played phone tag for a few days until we finally got a hold of one another. After a few brief qualifying questions to make sure we were on the same page in terms of what the job was (i.e. an entry level position where it is assumed that you will move onto other aspects of the company after a year or two of learning the system) we set up an interview.
